Diabetic Eye Disease Educator Program (English)

Diabetic Eye Disease Educator Course is a self-guided course for healthcare professionals, community health educators, diabetes educators, and anyone responsible for diabetes education for patients or clients. The course equips health educators with important patient education messages about diabetic eye disease and strategies for maintaining healthy vision. The objective is to train diabetes and community health educators to deliver patient education about Diabetic Retinopathy, Cataract and Glaucoma, and the methods for prevention and vision preservation, to those who are diabetic as well as populations at highest risk for developing diabetes.

The online course includes a pre and post- test, downloadable participant guide and patient education fact sheets, and an opportunity to complete an evaluation. The course and education materials are available in English and Spanish.
